The GMC Acadia, launched in 2006 as a 2007 model, marked a series of firsts for the GMC brand, including being the flagship pickup truck, the first unibody vehicle, and the first front-wheel-drive car since the mid-70s. Distinguished by its rack and pinion power steering and optional electric power steering, it offers standard four-wheel disc brakes and ABS. The Acadia's safety features are highlighted by its six-airbag system which ensures the protection of passengers in all rows. Its SLT-2 and Denali versions boast additional luxuries such as 19-inch aluminum wheels, high-pressure Goodyear Eagle tires, heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, and a dual exhaust system exclusive to the Denali. In 2010, GMC introduced the Denali version of the Acadia, characterized by its monochromatic color scheme, perforated leather seats, and wood trim. The second generation of Acadia, unveiled in 2016 and launched as a 2017 model, saw a significant redesign, with accommodation options for 5, 6, or 7 passengers. Despite a reduction in sales and the discontinuation of the 2.5 LCV I4 engine, the 2022 Acadia introduced a turbocharged LSY I4 engine and continued the use of a 9-speed automatic transmission. Combining comfort, safety, and power, the GMC Acadia is a robust and luxurious vehicle in the SUV segment.

As a relatively recent model, the GMC Acadia has displayed some commonly reported issues. One prominent issue is engine-related, including a rough-running engine that misfires, difficulties in starting the vehicle, oil leakage, and the presence of shavings in the oil. Owners also report an oil smell during operation and various noises, such as squealing and rattling, along with an illuminated Check Engine Light. These symptoms often indicate the need for replacement of parts like the timing chain guide, tensioner, timing belt tensioner, or timing cover gasket. Another common issue is a loss of engine power, often attributable to a clogged oil filter. Symptoms include the inability to pick up speed, improper functioning of the accelerator, sputtering, metallic noises, reduced oil pressure, and dirty exhaust. However, to ensure a comfortable and safe driving experience, it's essential to pay attention to other components, too, like the windshield wipers and air filter, which help provide clear vision and fresh air respectively.
