  • Q: How to remove and install shift cables in floor shift and column shift models?
    A: There is a process involved in floor shift models. This should be performed by positioning the shift lever in neutral. The process then involves opening the engine compartment and disconnecting the transaxle shift cable from the shift lever. In order to do this, the clip on holder, U-clip retainer has to be removed then squeezing tangs on the cable housing before it comes out of its bracket. In addition, remove the clip from the cable and then undo shift lever assembly where grommet is pried off that pulls out shift cable through hole in mount at front side (of course). Therefore, this might require pulling back carpeting if necessary just so that you can access this thing.
