  Q: How do you remove the Tailgate Lift Support?

  A: To remove the tailgate glass, begin by opening it and securely supporting it. Use a small screwdriver to detach the clip and slide the retaining pin out on the upper end of the tailgate glass strut. Pry off the retaining clip with a small screwdriver on the lower end of the strut and pry the lower end off the ball stud. Installation is the reverse of removal. To remove the tailgate, open it and support it securely. Pry off the retaining clips on the upper and lower ends of both struts by either prying or pulling sharply to detach the ends from the ball studs. Installation is the reverse of removal.
