Use water pump pliers to unscrew the locknut counterclockwise, or use a hammer and brass punch if it's tight. Remove the fuel pump/Fuel Level Sensor, taking care not to damage the fuel inlet strainer or the Fuel Level Sensor float arm and float. For installation, inspect and replace the pump-to-tank seal if necessary, and ensure the fuel pump inlet strainer is clean.
