  A: Drain the cooling system below the ECT sensor level. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ECT sensor. Unscrew and remove the ECT sensor. If you're installing the old sensor, wrap the threads of the new ECT sensor with Teflon tape and the threads of the new sensor should already be coated with sealant. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to tighten the ECT sensor to the torque specifications. Refill the cooling system.
