    Q: How do you remove and install a shift knob or lever and console in Chevrolet Blazer,S10,GMC Jimmy and Sonoma?
    A: To remove the shift knob or lever, release the clip and yank off the knob in case of automatic transmission models or unscrew bolts and detach shifter knob and lever assembly in case of manual transmission models. Pry out the cup holder to get at console next. Remove the retaining screw and disengage the console cover, then take out nuts. Open storage compartment, pull out compartment liner, remove nuts holding rear of console. Finally, undo front console retaining nuts, unfasten clips, disconnect any electrical connectors, and lift up and out of vehicle. Installation is simply done by reversing removal order.
