Raise the pump assembly to disconnect the quick-connect fitting for the ventilation harness, and remove the pump assembly without damaging the fuel inlet strainer or the fuel level sensor float arm and float. For installation, inspect the O-ring and fuel pump inlet strainer, replacing if necessary. Insert the fuel pump assembly into the tank, connecting the ventilation hose before locking it into place. Take care not to damage the fuel inlet strainer, float arm, or float. Ensure the float arm is not bent to maintain accurate fuel level indication. Finally, reverse the removal steps for installation.
