- Q:How do you remove the air conditioning Accumulator? Posted by Customer
- A:To remove the air conditioning system, start by discharging the system and disconnecting the battery. Then, disconnect the refrigerant inlet and outlet lines, removing the fittings and capping the open lines. Disconnect the electrical connector from the low-pressure switch and remove the switch. Finally, remove the accumulator/drier assembly by loosening the clamp bolt and lifting it out of the engine compartment. To install a new accumulator/drier, add one ounce of refrigerant oil and place it in the bracket. Position the assembly on the mounting stud and tighten the inlet and outlet lines securely with new O-rings. Install the pressure cycling switch and reconnect the connector. Reconnect the battery and have the system evacuated, recharged, and leak tested by a professional.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
