Q:
How do you remove the fuel injectors and Fuel Rail? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the fuel injectors, start by relieving the fuel system pressure and equalizing the tank pressure by removing the fuel filler cap. Then, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and the fuel line from the fuel rail. On V6 models, remove the upper intake manifold and the mounting bracket bolt for the fuel injector harness to detach the injector harness from the manifold. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor and the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. On V8 models, disconnect the electrical connectors from various components such as the alternator, electronic throttle body, and fuel injectors. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition coils and fuel injectors and remove the fuel rail mounting bolts. Carefully disengage the injectors from the intake manifold and lift the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly. Remove each injector retainer and discard the old injector O-rings. Before reassembling, lubricate the new injector O-rings with clean engine oil. To install, follow the reverse order of removal, ensuring that the fuel rail mounting bolts are tightened securely. Finally, start the engine and check for any fuel leaks.
