- Q:How to remove and install a Control Arm Bushing on a Cadillac ElDorado and Fleetwood? Posted by Customer
- A:Remove the control arm from the vehicle. Remove the bushing from the control arm by tapping down the flare with a hammer and punch. To install, insert bolt, washer, and bearing assembly J-21474-19 or equivalent through bushing driver J-21474-13 or equivalent and position the small end facing the bushing. Position flaring tool J-23915 or equivalent with the small flare facing the bushing. Install the nut J-21474-18 and tighten until a 45° flare is obtained and the bushing is secure in the control arm. Install the control arm on the vehicle. For Eldorado and Seville, remove the lower control arm. Position the control arm in a press with tools J-35561-1 and J-35561-2 or equivalents. Press out the control arm bushing. To install, lubricate a new bushing with a suitable rubber lubricant. Position the control arm and bushing in a press with tools J-35561-1, J-35561-2, and J-35561-3 or equivalents. Press in the new control arm bushing.
