- A:To remove the A/C switch, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the instrument panel trim plate(s) to gain access to the switch, remove the attaching screws, and pull the switch out far enough to unplug the electrical connector. To install, engage the electrical connector, install the attaching screws, install the trim plate(s), connect the negative battery cable (tighten the cable bolt to 11 ft. lbs. - A:Locate the heater core within the heater case under the dashboard. Disconnect the battery and drain the radiator and heater hoses. Remove the heater case attaching nuts and screws from inside the engine compartment. Inside the car, disconnect the control cables and remove the entire case assembly from the dash panel.
