Q:
Where is the MAP sensor located and how do you remove it for Cadillac DeVille and DTS? Posted by Customer
A:
The MAP sensor is located on the top of the intake manifold, near the throttle body. It is specifically found on top of the throttle body. To remove it, unplug the electrical connector, detach the accelerator cable bracket from the throttle body by removing the bolts, and pull the sensor off the throttle body. Before starting, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector. Proceed to remove the accelerator cable bracket bolts and lift up the bracket. Finally, remove the MAP sensor from the throttle body. The installation process is simply the reverse of the removal.

Q:
How do you remove the MAP sensor on Chevrolet Avalanche,Silverado,Suburban,Tahoe,GMC Sierra,Yukon,Yukon Denali and Yukon XL? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the MAP sensor on a V6 model, disconnect the electrical connector and pull the sensor straight up out of the intake manifold. Inspect and replace the sealing grommet if necessary, and use clean engine oil on the grommet during installation to prevent tearing. For a V8 model, remove the intake manifold cover and disconnect the electrical connector before removing the sensor retainer and pulling the sensor straight up. Inspect and replace the sealing grommet if necessary, and use clean engine oil on the grommet during installation. Make sure the retainer snaps into place during installation. The process for both models is otherwise the reverse of removal.

Q:
How do you remove the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor for Chevrolet Cobalt,HHR and Saturn ION? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the 2.0L supercharged/2.2L and 2.4L engines, start by turning the ignition key to the OFF position. Then, disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector and remove the mounting bolt. The MAP sensor is located on the intake manifold, just behind the throttle body on 2.2L and 2.4L engines. On 2.0L engines, there are two MAP sensors; one at the right end of the intake manifold called the Temperature Manifold Absolute Pressure (TMAP) sensor and another on top of the left end of the supercharger called a Supercharger Intake Pressure (SCIP) sensor. On 2003 and 2004 models, you may need to remove the accelerator/cruise control cable bracket nuts and raise it up slightly to access the MAP sensor. If necessary, remove the throttle body to access the sensor. If the locking clip is blocking access to the sensor, disconnect it by squeezing the clip ends together. Finally, pull out and remove the MAP sensor. For the 2.0L turbocharged engine, start by disconnecting the MAP sensor electrical connector located on top of the intake manifold above the throttle body. Then, remove the sensor mounting screws and the sensor from the intake manifold. To install, check the condition of the grommet if working on a 2004 and earlier model, and replace if necessary. For 2005 and later models, replace the sensor if the seal is damaged. Installation is the reverse of removal.
