Q:
How do you remove the fuel rail sensor for Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the fuel rail sensor, start by relieving the fuel system pressure and disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, remove the intake manifold and locate the electrical connector for the sensor, disconnecting it. Finally, unscrew the sensor from the fuel rail. For installation, simply reverse the removal steps and tighten the sensor to the specified torque. For fuel feed pipe sensor removal on 2015 and earlier models, raise and support the rear of the vehicle on jackstands, remove the protective cover from the fuel tank, disconnect the electrical connector, and unscrew the sensor from the fuel feed line. Installation is the reverse of removal. For 2016 and later models, remove the fuel tank, disconnect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector, and replace the fuel pressure sensor and fuel feed pipe as an assembly. Again, installation is the reverse of removal.
