- A:Disconnect the electrical connector from the EGR valve. Then, disconnect the pipe on the EGR valve. Remove the valve mounting fasteners and lift off the EGR valve. Remove the gasket and clean both gasket surfaces. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to use a new EGR valve gasket, and tighten the EGR valve mounting nuts securely.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
