To remove the water pump, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal and raising the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the lower splash shield and drain the cooling system, saving the coolant if it's in good condition. Remove the water pump drivebelt, air filter housing, and inlet air resonator. Use a pin spanner or strap wrench to hold the water pump pulley in place while removing the pulley mounting bolts and pulley. Then, remove the bolts attaching the water pump to the engine and gently tap it with a soft-faced hammer if it's stuck. Clean the bolt threads, threaded holes, and sealing surfaces, and remove all traces of old gasket material. Disconnect all hoses from the water pump and secure them out of the way. Remove the supercharger drivebelt tensioner and bracket, and disconnect and remove the remaining hoses to the water pump. Finally, unbolt and remove the water pump from the front of the engine, tapping it if necessary. For installation, compare the new pump to the old one to ensure they're identical. Apply a thin film of RTV sealant to hold the new gasket in place, and coat O-rings with clean coolant. Install the water pump bolts and tighten them in a criss-cross pattern to the proper torque specifications. The rest of the installation is the reverse of removal, and don't forget to refill the cooling system and check for leaks by operating the engine.
