For four-cylinder models, start by relieving the fuel system pressure and disconnecting the negative battery terminal. Then, disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator and remove the two mounting bolts to detach the regulator from the fuel rail. Remove the old O-ring and plastic retainer from the regulator and replace them with new ones. Install the regulator back onto the fuel rail and tighten the mounting bolts. Reconnect the vacuum hose and start the engine to check for any fuel leaks. For V6 models, follow the same steps to relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator and remove the clamp bolt and nut. Pull the regulator assembly straight down from its housing and be prepared to clean up any spilled fuel. Remove the old O-rings and replace them with new ones. Install the regulator back into its housing and tighten the clamp bolt and nut securely. Reconnect the vacuum hose and start the engine to check for any fuel leaks.
