The caliper mounting bracket should be unbolted for removal.

Next, remove the brake caliper, making sure to suspend it out of the way with a piece of wire. Visually inspect the disc surface for any score marks or damage, and check for disc runout using a dial indicator. If necessary, the disc should be refinished by an automotive machine shop. Additionally, ensure that the disc thickness meets the specified minimum thickness. For removal, unbolt the caliper mounting bracket and remove the lug nuts and disc from the hub. If removing a rear disc, detach the caliper mounting bracket from the rear knuckle. To install, place the disc over the threaded studs and install the caliper and brake pad assembly. Tighten the caliper bolts and install the wheel. Lower the vehicle, tighten the lug nuts, and depress the brake pedal to bring the brake pads into contact with the disc. Finally, check the operation of the brakes before driving the vehicle in traffic.
