Q:
How to disconnect and install the MAF/IAT sensor for Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Customer
A:
Disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF/Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor for 5.7L (LS1 and LS6) and 6.0L (LS2) engines. Loosen the intake air duct clamps and MAF sensor-to-air filter housing clamp. Separate the intake air duct from the throttle body and MAF/Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor, then remove the sensor from the air filter housing. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the clamps securely. For 6.2L (LS3 and LS9) and 7.0L (LS7) engines, note that on supercharged 6.2L (LS9) engines, the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor is a separate sensor mounted on the charge air cooler. The MAF sensor is located on the side of the intake air duct portion of the air filter housing. Disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF/Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor. Unscrew the mounting fasteners and remove the sensor from the air intake duct. Installation is the reverse of removal.

How do you remove the MAF sensor for Chevrolet Cobalt,HHR and Saturn ION? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the MAF sensor, start by turning the ignition key to OFF. Then, disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor by pushing the tab on the connector with a small screwdriver and pulling outward on the connector lock. If necessary, remove the left front fender well liner for better access to the MAF sensor on the air intake canister. Loosen the hose clamp screws at each end of the air intake duct and remove the intake duct and the MAF sensor as a single assembly if better access to the screws is needed. Finally, remove the mounting screws and take out the MAF sensor. To install the MAF sensor, simply reverse the removal steps, making sure to tighten the MAF sensor screws and air intake duct hose clamp screws securely.

A:
The MAF sensor is located between the air filter housing and the air intake duct. To remove it, first remove the air intake duct and resonator. Next, disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor. Then, loosen the hose clamp screws that secure the MAF sensor to the air filter housing on V8 models or the air intake duct on six-cylinder models. On V8 models, remove the MAF sensor by pulling it off the air filter housing cover. On six-cylinder models, remove the MAF sensor from between the air filter housing and the air intake duct by pulling off the air intake duct, then pulling the MAF sensor off the air filter housing. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure the embossed arrow on the MAF sensor points toward the engine.
