- A:For the 4.6L engine, remove serpentine drive belt, idler pulley, belt tensioner, front cover, oil pump, cam covers, and three timing chain tensioners. Remove camshaft sprocket bolts from all four camshafts and remove the sprockets. Remove secondary drive chains and intermediate shaft sprocket. Slide gears and primary drive chain off the crankshaft and intermediate shaft. To install, retime camshafts, install oil pump and cam covers, and reinstall serpentine drive belt, idler pulley, and belt tensioner.
