Open the hood and scribe a line around the latch and bolt heads to aid alignment when installing. On 2010 and later models, insert long-handled trim tool or screwdriver into the hood latch opening (under the plastic trim panel) and disconnect the electrical connector fastener, then reach behind and under the radiator support and disconnect the electrical connector from the latch. Remove the mounting bolts securing the hood latch to the radiator support. Remove the latch. Disconnect the Hood Cable by disengaging the cable from the latch. Installation is the reverse of removal. Working in the passenger compartment, release the cable from the retainer and slide the end out of the handle (Pull the cable out of the retainer, then slide the end out of the handle). Working in the engine compartment, disconnect the Hood Cable from the latch. Unclip all the cable retaining clips on the radiator support and inner fenderwell. On 2010 and later models, the front bumper cover must be removed to access the cable retaining clips. Installation is the reverse of removal.
