How do you remove a non-sealed beam type headlight for the 1979 Buick Century? Posted by Customer

Open the hood, turn the bulb assembly counterclockwise 1/5turn, pressing in firmly, until the flanges align with the slots in the retainer ring, pull out the bulb assembly, disconnect the bulb base from the harness by lifting the plastic locking tab, snap a new bulb into the wiring harness, install the bulb assembly by putting the small tab in the small notch in the retainer ring, and turn the bulb assembly 1/6turn clockwise to lock it in place.

Installation is a reversal of removal. However, make sure that all ground connections are refastened and that the switch shaft is fully seated in the switch. The shaft retainer should lock the shaft into place.
