Q:
How to remove the air conditioning Compressor for Buick Century,Regal? Posted by Customer
A:
The procedures encompass discharging and servicing the air conditioning system, with a focus on removal and installation steps. Ensure access by removing obstructions like fans, shrouds, generators, power steering pumps, and hoses. Disconnect suction and discharge lines, cleaning their vicinity, and sealing open fittings. Draw a detailed diagram of complex mounting systems, then loosen and remove compressor drive belt, bolts, nuts, and spacers, supporting the compressor throughout. Orient and support the compressor, install brackets and bolts for adjustment, place and tension the belt, and coat new O-rings with refrigerant oil. Connect fittings, tighten using a backup wrench, reinstall removed components, and finally, evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. If a refrigerant recovery/recycling machine isn't available, professional assistance is recommended.

Q:
How to remove and install A/C Compressor for Buick Skylark,Oldsmobile Omega and Pontiac Phoenix? Posted by Customer
A:
Before disconnecting any A/C lines anywhere in the system, the car should be taken to a GM dealer or other qualified automotive air conditioning repair shop to have the system discharged. The negative battery cable should be disconnected and all electrical connections from the A/C compressor should be removed. For an L4 engine, the muffler fitting and hose assembly should be removed from the rear head of the compressor. The compressor's adjusting bolts and nut should be loosened, the compressor should be pivoted to loosen the drivebelt and the belt should be removed from the compressor pulley. The upper A/C adjustment bolt and spacer, the lower A/C bracket bolt and lower pivot bolt, and the lower rear compressor adjustment nut should all be removed, followed by the compressor itself. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Once the compressor and all A/C lines have been securely connected again, the car must be taken to a GM dealer or other qualified shop to have the system charged. For a V6 engine, the upper through bolt and spacer from the compressor and brackets should be removed, as well as the upper drivebelt tension adjusting bolt. The bolt that attaches the compressor to the generator lower mounting bracket should be removed. The compressor should be pushed rearward in its mounting brackets and the drivebelt should be removed. The front radiator support brace bolt should be removed and the brace should be swung toward the right fender for clearance. The bolt that attaches the compressor manifold to the compressor should be removed and the compressor should be removed from the vehicle. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Once the compressor and all A/C lines have been securely connected, the car should be taken to a GM dealer or other qualified shop to have the system charged.
