- A:Position the brackets and bolts on which the unit hinges during adjustment, along with the related hardware such as spacers, install attaching nuts and tighten nuts/bolts just slightly, install the bolts, spacers and other hardware which permit the compressor belt tension to be adjusted, tension the belt so there is about one quarter in. (2cm) of play at the center of a long span and tighten all bolts, coat the O-rings with clean refrigerant oil, remove the tape or covers from the fittings, and then remove the old O-rings. Install the new O-rings, connect the fittings and tighten with backup wrench, and install any other under hood items removed to gain access to the compressor.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
