- Q:How to remove and install a condenser in a Chevrolet Metro? Posted by Customer
- A:Remove the grille. Detach the vertical brace. Remove the auxiliary electric fan. The fan can be removed along with the condenser or by itself. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser assembly. Be sure to use a back-up wrench to avoid twisting the lines. Immediately cap the open fittings to prevent the entry of dirt and moisture. Unbolt the condenser and lift it out of the vehicle. Store it upright to prevent oil loss. Installation is the reverse of removal. If a new condenser was installed, add 0.7 to 10 ounces (20 to 30 cc's) of refrigerant oil to the system. Have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
