To remove the Brake Master Cylinder, start by cleaning around the reservoir cap and using a suction device to remove the brake fluid. Disconnect the brake lines from the Brake Master Cylinder, being careful not to get brake fluid on painted surfaces. Remove the nuts and washers mounting the Brake Master Cylinder to the brake booster, and then remove the Brake Master Cylinder. To overhaul the Brake Master Cylinder, obtain a rebuild kit and remove the fluid reservoir retaining screw. Detach the reservoir from the Brake Master Cylinder and remove the rubber grommets. Depress the pistons and remove the snap-ring, then remove the primary and secondary pistons. Inspect the bore of the Brake Master Cylinder and replace it if there are any deep score marks or damage. Replace all parts included in the rebuild kit and clean all reused parts with brake fluid or brake system cleaner. Push the assembled components into the bore, install a new snap-ring, and install the reservoir grommets and reservoir. Before installing the Brake Master Cylinder, bench bleed it by applying pressure to the piston and controlling flow from the brake line outlets. Fill the reservoir with brake fluid and expel air from the Brake Master Cylinder by pushing the piston assembly into the bore. Repeat the procedure until only brake fluid is expelled. Finally, install the Brake Master Cylinder, fill the reservoir with brake fluid, and bleed the brake system.
