- A:To remove the turn signal switch, start by disconnecting the negative battery cable and removing the steering column covers and driver's knee bolster. Then, remove the two Torx screws that secure the multi-function switch to the top of the steering column. Next, unclip the wire ties that secure the multi-function switch harness to the other steering column wires. At the bottom of the steering column, remove the bolt that secures the large bulkhead electrical connector to the firewall. Separate the two multi-function switch connectors from the large bulkhead connector. It's important to note that the multi-function switch and its harness must be replaced as a unit.
