Remove the drivebelt and disconnect the air conditioning hoses from the backside of the alternator for 1996 models. Remove the mounting bolts and separate the alternator from the engine. Label and detach the wires from the alternator. When purchasing a new alternator, compare it to the old one in terms of terminals, size, location, and identification numbers.
