- A:Brake hoses are rubber covered flex hoses designed to transmit brake pressure from the metal tubes running along the frame to the calipers in front and wheel cylinders in the rear. To remove the hose, raise and support the vehicle, remove the through-bolt that fastens the hose to the caliper, remove any clips retaining the connection at the frame, and unscrew the flare fitting located on the pipe running along the frame.
