Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. The blower motor is located above and to the right of the accelerator pedal in the Sprint model, and on the passenger's side of the dash, behind the glove box in the Metro model. Disconnect the wiring from the blower motor and remove the rubber air duct running between the motor and the blower housing. Unplug the hose and electrical connector from the motor, remove the three screws, then maneuver the blower motor out from under the dash. Remove the screws holding the blower motor to the vehicle and lower the unit from the dash. Remove the three mounting screws and lift the motor out of the housing. If you're replacing the motor, detach the fan which is attached to the motor shaft with a nut and transfer it to the new motor. Installation is the reverse of removal. Run the blower motor and check for proper operation. For the Metro model, remove the two screws from the glove box striker and detach the striker. Detach the rear upper glove box panel. Disconnect the wire from the blower motor and remove the rubber air hose running between the motor and the blower housing. Disconnect the fresh/recirculated control cable from the blower case assembly. Remove the three blower case mounting screws and lower the case from the vehicle. Remove the three mounting screws and lift the motor out of the housing.
