Remove the glove box. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the blower motor control module. Unplug the blower motor control module connectors, then remove the mounting screws. Remove the blower motor control module mounting screws and remove the control module from the housing. Installation is the reverse of removal. Note: If the original blower motor has not been removed, a service kit will have to be purchased prior to the removal of the motor. The service kit is available from a dealer service department. Remove the glove box. Remove the airbag trim cover fasteners and cover panel. Remove the right floor duct fastener, then the duct. Remove the blower motor cover screws, then unclip the wiring harness and remove the cover. On some models, the covers have melted plastic stakes where the mounting screws would normally be installed. If there are plastic stakes, carefully cut away the stakes and replace them with sheet metal screws. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector. On all models, the factory molds the blower motor housing and the heater/evaporator case into one unit during manufacturing and the blower motor housing must be cut out to remove the blower motor assembly. The case must be cut as straight as possible along then arrow groove between the blower motor housing and lower case to be able to reuse the blower motor cup. DO NOT cut any deeper than the bottom edge of the housing to remove the blower motor cup. Once the housing is cut out, lower the blower motor housing down and out. Sand the edges smooth on the blower motor housing and the case. Install a blower motor service ring or blower motor kit, then tighten the mounting fasteners securely. Installation is the reverse of removal.
