- A:Disconnect the negative battery cable. Drain or remove the washer solvent. Remove the headlamp access cover. Remove the radiator support brace. Remove the relay center and position it out of the way. Detach the electrical connectors and the washer hose. Unscrew the two screws and remove the solvent container. Disengage the washer pump from the solvent container. Installation is the reversal of the removal procedure. On 1992-98 Eldorado and Seville, remove the headlamp access cover. Remove the radiator support-to-wheel well brace. Remove the relay center and position aside. Use a syringe or similar tool to remove the washer fluid from the reservoir. Detach the wiring connectors and washer hose. Remove the mounting screws/nuts and remove the reservoir. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist

- A:The rectangular motor type for the washer pump involves removing it independently from the wiper motor by disconnecting the washer hoses and electrical wiring. The pump can be lifted off the motor after removing the mounting screws and the four lobe washer pump drive cam. The felt washer on the wiper shaft should be removed, followed by the solenoid assembly and ratchet dog. The ratchet wheel can be taken off by moving the spring out of the shaft groove. To separate the pump and pump actuator plate from the frame, the pump housing should be pulled towards the valve end. Reassembly and installation are the reverse of the removal procedure. For the round motor type, the washer hoses and wires should be disconnected from the pump relay. The plastic pump cover can be removed, and then the pump and frame can be withdrawn by removing the frame screws. The ratchet dog, pawl, ratchet spring, and other components should be removed. The relay coil and terminal board can be detached by chiseling off the tabs. The plastic pump housing can be removed by pulling it towards the valve end, and the valve can be separated from the housing by removing the screws.
