When removing and installing inner tie-rods, a heavy-duty thread locker should be applied and tightened to torque specifications. New nuts should be used on all ball studs and tightened to torque specifications. When removing and installing the idler arm, a two-jaw puller should be used to separate it from the relay rod, and new nuts should be used on the ball stud. To remove and install the Pitman arm, a puller should be used to separate it from the relay rod, and a new nut should be used on the ball stud. The steering damper should be inspected for fluid leakage and excessive wear, and if necessary, replaced. When removing and installing the steering damper, the fasteners should be tightened to torque specifications.
