Q:
How do you remove driveaxle oil seal on Buick Enclave,Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the wheel seal, start by raising the rear of the vehicle and supporting it securely on jackstands. Place the transaxle in Neutral and block the front wheels to prevent rolling. If working on the right rear wheel, remove the muffler assembly. Then, remove the wheel(s) carefully. Next, use a seal removal tool or a large screwdriver to pry out the wheel seal, being cautious not to damage the seal bore. For installation, use a seal installer or a large deep socket as a drift to drive the new wheel seal into the bore squarely and ensure it is completely seated. Lubricate the lip of the new seal with multi-purpose grease and then install the wheel, taking care not to damage the seal's lip. Finally, check the differential lubricant level and add more if necessary to reach the appropriate level.

Q:
How to replace a driveaxle oil seal on Buick Enclave,Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia? Posted by Customer
A:
Oil leaks frequently occur due to wear of the wheel seals, which are located on the sides of the transaxle where the driveaxles are attached. If leakage of a seal is suspected, the vehicle should be raised and securely supported on jackstands. The driveaxle needs to be removed, and then the old seal can be carefully pried out using a screwdriver or a special seal removal tool if necessary. The old seal should be compared to the new one to ensure it is the correct replacement. Before installation, the inside and outside diameters of the new seal should be coated with transaxle fluid. The new seal can then be installed using a seal installation tool or a large socket, driving it into the bore squarely and making sure it is seated to its original depth. Finally, the driveaxle can be reinstalled and the transaxle fluid level should be checked and topped up if necessary.
