- A:To remove the fuel pump/fuel level sensor module, start by placing it on a clean workbench surface. Then, disengage the fuel level sensor wiring harness from the molded-in harness guide and disconnect the fuel level sensor electrical connector from the pump module cover. To remove the fuel level sensor unit, depress the locking tab and slide off the sensor. It is important to note that no further disassembly of the fuel pump/fuel level sensor assembly is possible. For installation, simply slide the fuel level sensor unit into place on the fuel pump module until you hear a click, and then gently pull on the sensor unit to ensure it is locked into place.
