- A:To remove the sway bar bushing kit, start by raising the rear of the vehicle and supporting it securely on jackstands. Then, disconnect the sway bar bushing kit links from the bar, using a Torx or Allen wrench if necessary to hold the ball stud in place. Unbolt the sway bar bushing kit retainers and remove the retainer brackets from the body if needed. On 2007 and later models, lower the rear subframe enough to remove the sway bar bushing kit, although it is not necessary to remove the kit to replace the bushings. Once the sway bar bushing kit is removed, take note of the positions and orientation of the bushings and remove them from the bar. Check the bushings for wear, hardness, distortion, cracking, or any other signs of deterioration, and replace them if necessary. Also, check the sway bar bushing kit links. Clean the areas of the bar where the bushings ride using a wire brush, and lubricate the inside and outside of the new bushings with vegetable oil. To install the sway bar bushing kit, simply reverse the removal steps and tighten the links and bushing retainer fasteners to the specified torque.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
