Where is the PCV valve located and how can its functionality be checked? Posted by Customer

The PCV valve is located in the intake manifold. To check its functionality, first disconnect the hose from the PCV valve. With the engine idling at normal operating temperature, place your finger over the valve opening. If you can feel suction, the valve is functioning properly. If there's no vacuum at the valve, check for a plugged hose or valve and replace any plugged or deteriorated hoses. After this, turn off the engine and connect a piece of hose to the PCV valve. Blow through the valve from the valve cover end. If the valve is operating properly, air should pass through the valve with some difficulty. If no air passes through the valve or it passes easily, install a new one. When purchasing a replacement PCV valve, make sure it's for your particular vehicle and engine. Compare the new valve to the old one to ensure they're the same.
