Then, remove the front wheels and the clip retaining the brake line to the strut bracket using needle nose pliers. Next, remove the strut-to-knuckle nuts and bolts, as well as the nuts retaining the strut to the strut tower from under the hood. Carefully remove the strut assembly, being mindful of not damaging the outer CV joint boot or overextending the inner CV joint. Inspect the strut body for any leaking fluid, dents, cracks, or other damage that may require repair or replacement. Additionally, check the coil spring for chips and cracks in the coating, as this can lead to premature spring failure.
