Q:
How do you remove the lower control arm? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the lower control arm, start by loosening the wheel lug nuts and raising the vehicle with jackstands. Remove the wheel and disconnect the stabilizer bar link from the lower control arm. Then, detach the shock absorber yoke from the lower control arm. Loosen the balljoint nut and use a balljoint remover to break the balljoint loose from the steering knuckle. Remove the nut and then remove the lower control arm pivot bolts and nuts. Take note of the bolt orientation. Pull the lower control arm from its frame brackets and slip the balljoint stud out of the steering knuckle. To install the lower control arm, simply reverse the removal steps, ensuring that all fasteners are tightened to the specified torque. Finally, install the wheel, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts. It is recommended to have the front-end alignment checked and adjusted if necessary.

Q:
How do you remove the trailing arm and track bar? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the trailing arm, start by loosening the rear wheel lug nuts and raising the rear of the vehicle with jackstands. Support the rear axle with a floor jack and detach the leveling sensor link if necessary. Remove the nuts, washers, and bolts from each end of the trailing arm. Check the bushings for any signs of deterioration and replace them if needed. For installation, raise the rear axle to simulate normal ride height with a floor jack and tighten the fasteners to the specified torque. For the track bar removal, raise the rear of the vehicle with jackstands and remove the nuts/bolts from each end of the bar. Check the bushings for any signs of deterioration and replace them if necessary. Take the bar and the bushings to a qualified repair facility to have the old ones pressed out and the new ones pressed in. For installation, raise the rear axle to simulate normal ride height with a floor jack and tighten the fasteners to the specified torque.
