- Q:How do you remove the Compressor? Posted by Customer
- A:To remove the air conditioning system, start by discharging the system and disconnecting the negative battery terminal. Then, raise the vehicle and remove the lower and inner fender splash shields. Next, remove the drivebelt and the air filter housing with the inlet air resonator. Disconnect the electrical connector from the compressor clutch field coil. Remove the compressor inlet and outlet line mounting bolts, discard the old O-rings, and remove the lines from the compressor. Finally, remove the compressor by taking out the mounting bolts. For installation, follow the instructions provided with the new compressor, drain excess oil if necessary, and transfer the clutch if needed. Replace all O-rings and lubricate them with refrigerant oil before reconnecting the lines to the compressor. Reinstall all the components in the reverse order of removal. Finally, have the system evacuated, recharged, and leak tested.Posted by GMPartsGiant Specialist
