A:
On models equipped with a Delco Loe II anti-theft audio system, be sure the lockout feature is turned off before performing any procedure which requires disconnecting the battery. For radio receiver (1988 through 1994 models), disconnect the negative cable at the battery, remove the ashtray, remove the electrical connectors from the radio receiver, remove the radio support bracket and the radio receiver from the dash by removing the radio receiver retaining screws. Installation is the reverse of removal. For radio receiver (1995 and later models), disconnect the negative cable at the battery, unhook the 4 clips across the top and 3 across the bottom of the instrument cluster trim panel and remove the trim panel. Using a small screwdriver, release the retainers and pull the radio unit out of the instrument panel, disconnect the electrical connectors and antenna lead from the radio unit. Installation is the reverse of removal. For control head (1988 through 1994 models), remove the trim bezel, remove the heater/air conditioner control head and the screws that retain the radio control head to the dash. Remove the electrical connectors and the antenna connector from the control head, remove the control head from the dash. Installation is the reverse of removal. For front speaker, use a dull screwdriver and carefully pry the speaker grille up, remove the screws that retain the speaker to the dash, raise the speaker and disconnect the wires. Installation is the reverse of removal. For rear speaker, use a dull screwdriver and carefully pry the speaker grille out, remove the speaker mounting screws, detach the speaker then disconnect the speaker wires. Installation is the reverse of removal.

To remove the radio, start by detaching the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Then, remove the instrument cluster bezel and unscrew the radio. Disconnect the electrical connection and antenna lead before finally removing the radio from the dash. For installation, simply reverse the removal steps. When it comes to the speakers, if they are door-mounted, remove the door trim panel and drill out the rivets. Detach the speaker and unplug the electrical connector. Use a small hand-operated rivet gun for installing the new speaker. For front speakers, remove the speaker grille, screws, and detach the speaker. For rear speakers, remove the trim panel, nuts, and speaker.
