- A:The back-up light switch is located above the left-side driveaxle. To access it, you need to first loosen the left-front wheel lug nuts, then raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. After removing the left front wheel, disconnect the electrical connector from the back-up light switch. Unscrew the switch from the case and remove the gasket. It's important to use a socket or box-end wrench to remove the switch to avoid rounding off the corners. Once the switch is removed, clean the threads and apply sealant before screwing the switch back in and tightening it securely.
