About Pontiac G8

Pontiac G8 is a rear-wheel drive sedan manufactured by General Motor Holden Ltd from 2008 to 2009 model year. The first Pontiac G8 actually was the rebadged Holden Commodore. It was unveiled in 2008 for the 2009 model year for the first time. Pontiac G8 was Pontiac's first full-size car. However, it is a pity that it has not made a big sale success. And because of the demise of Pontiac brand, which was caused by GM's Chapter 11 bankruptcy, 2009 model year is the last year of the Pontiac G8.
The Pontiac G8 offered three trim levels: base G8 powered by 3.6 L 256 hp LX7 V6 engine with 5-speed GM 5L40-E automatic transmission; G8 GT powered by 6.0 L 361 hp Generation IV V8 engine with 6-speed 6L80-E automatic transmission and G8 GXP introduced at the 2008 New York International Auto Show powered by 6.2 L 415 hp LS3 V8 engine with 6-speed automatic transmission and optional 6-speed Tremec TR-6060 manual transmission and 415 lb of torque.
