Then, reach under the dashboard and disconnect the speedometer cable casing from the speedometer head by pressing the retaining spring clip and pulling back on the casing. Remove the dash panel sealing plug from the casing and use pliers to pull out the old core. If the inner cable is broken, remove the lower piece from under the vehicle. Lubricate the new speedometer cable core with special lubricant and push it into the casing, ensuring it is fully engaged in the pinion gear inside the transmission. Reinstall the dash sealing plug and connect the casing to the Instrument Cluster. Finally, road test the vehicle to check for proper speedometer operation.
