  A: First of all, you need to disconnect the starter motor cable from the negative battery terminal; then on V8 models you will have to loosen the right front wheel lug nuts and raise the front part of your car using jackstands. For V6 models remove oil pan skid plate in case it is equipped and on V8 models as well remove right front wheel well splash shield. Remove if applicable a starter motor heat shield respectively and separate starter control cable and Battery Cable from starter motor solenoid terminals. On V8 models take off transmission cover, finally unscrew the mounting bolts of a starting engine. To install a new starter, just reverse the order of these steps ensuring that bolts are tightened according to specifications for torque.
