  Q: How do I replace the fuel filter in a Chevrolet Metro?

  A: Remove the filler cap of the fuel system that will get rid of the rest pressure then fix it back. The fuel filter is found on the firewall underneath the brake master cylinder. Release hose clamps near each of filter fittings and pull them up hoses. Disconnect hoses from filter and remove it from the bracket. Loosen clamps, disconnect hoses, then use a screwdriver to separate filter from bracket. If they are old, this would be a great moment to change hoses. Now attach hoses into new filters and clamp about 1/4 inches from ends. Slide in filter into the bracket. Check if it is secure and that no hose kinks appear on it.
