Chevrolet Metro Fuel Filter Parts Questions & Answers

  • Q: How do I replace the fuel filter in a Chevrolet Metro?
A: Remove the filler cap of the fuel system that will get rid of the rest pressure then fix it back. The fuel filter is found on the firewall underneath the brake master cylinder. Release hose clamps near each of filter fittings and pull them up hoses. Disconnect hoses from filter and remove it from the bracket. Loosen clamps, disconnect hoses, then use a screwdriver to separate filter from bracket. If they are old, this would be a great moment to change hoses. Now attach hoses into new filters and clamp about 1/4 inches from ends. Slide in filter into the bracket. Check if it is secure and that no hose kinks appear on it. Always inspect for leaks when you start engine at filters Remember that in fuel injected engines, fuel filters lie beneath cars behind left side front area of a petrol tank Disconnect negative battery terminal wire, take up vehicle with jack stands safely Slide a metal drain pan under the canister Push back hose clamps before you unplug inlet or outlet tubes Remove bolts and detach canister Uninstall its mounting apparatus and retain it for future purposes Install mounter onto fresh one but make sure match marks are correctly aligned Fix in place the assembly which holds both filters tightly Tighten torque nodules Connect intake and output conduits Start car engine after connecting pipe lines Plugs must be smaller than pipes.
