  Q: What should be checked during a Center Link,Idler Arm,Pitman Arm and Tie Rod inspection on Chevrolet Avalanche,Silverado,Suburban,Tahoe,GMC Sierra,Yukon,Yukon Denali and Yukon XL?

  A: During a steering linkage inspection, the Pitman arm, idler arm, relay rod, adjustable tie-rods, and steering damper (if applicable) should be checked for damage or excessive play. If play is found in the relay rod or tie-rod, they should be replaced. If the idler arm has more than 0.078 inches of play, it should be replaced. Apply a heavy-duty thread locker and tighten to torque specifications when handling the inner tie-rods.
