A:
To remove a halogen headlight, start by removing the inner fender splash shield. Then, locate the round cover protecting the bulbs and turn it counterclockwise to remove it. This will expose the bulb(s). Next, remove the bulb from the headlight housing and disconnect the electrical connector. To install a new bulb, connect the electrical connector to the new bulb holder and properly align and install the bulb holder into the housing. Twist it clockwise to lock it in place and check the operation of the bulb. Finally, reinstall the cover, inner fender splash shield, and the wheel and lug nuts. Lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque.

A:
To remove the headlight housing on Cobalt models, simply pull it out to access the bulbs from the rear. Twist the headlight retaining ring counterclockwise and pull out the large bulb holder to replace the bulb. The installation process is the reverse of removal. On ION models, remove the headlight housing by pulling it out and then remove the round dust caps over the bulb sockets. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlight bulb and rotate the lock-ring 1/4-turn counterclockwise to remove the bulb from the headlight assembly. To install the new bulb, align the notches on the headlight bulb flange with the tabs in the housing. The installation process is otherwise the reverse of removal. For sedan models, remove the inner fender liner and disconnect the electrical connector to the bulbs. Twist the headlight bulb counterclockwise, pull it out, and replace it. The installation process is the reverse of removal.
