How to replace the fuel filter on Cadillac CTS?

On 2008 and later models, the fuel filter is integral with fuel pump module and is designed to last the life of the vehicle; no service is required. First, relieve the fuel system pressure. Then, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. The fuel filter is located forward of the right rear wheel. Using the quick-connect fitting tools disconnect the fuel line from the fuel filter. Using a wrench (and backup wrench to prevent the filter from turning), unscrew the threaded fuel line fitting. Slide the filter out of the mounting bracket and discard the O-ring. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to replace the O-ring with a new one and tighten the fuel line fitting securely.
