Take off fasteners securing headlight housing. Disconnect headlight electrical connector and remove assembly. To install use reverse of removal.
  • Q: How to adjust headlights?
A: Adjustment screws that are spring loaded, control headlight alignment in two directions. Models of a later date include a built-in aiming gauge. On these models, turning the adjusting screw allows for the adjuster to be set at zero before adjustments. There are several methods of adjusting the headlights, with the simplest requiring a large level area with a blank wall. Masking tape should be positioned vertically on the wall in reference to vehicle centerline and the centerlines of both headlights, and horizontal tape line should be positioned in reference to the centerline of all the headlights. It may be easier to position the tape on the wall with the vehicle parked only a few inches away. Adjustment is best made with vehicle parked 25 feet from wall, sitting level; gas tank half-full; no unusually heavy load in vehicle. Starting with low beam adjustment, place high intensity zone two inches below horizontal line and two inches from side of headlight vertical line facing traffic coming towards it. Adjusting screw on top moves beam up or down when turned clockwise or counterclockwise respectively while that on side moves beam left or right using same method. When high beams are on high intensity zone should be centered vertically with exact center just below horizontal line. It may not be possible to position headlight aim exactly for both high and low beams If a compromise must be made remember that low beams are most used and have greatest effect on safety. Have your headlights adjusted by dealer service department or service station at earliest opportunity.
