How do you remove and install the alternator in a Chevrolet Cruze?

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the under-vehicle splash shield. On 2016 and later models, disconnect and remove the front exhaust pipe. Remove the drivebelt. If you're working on a 2015 or earlier 1.4L engine, remove the drivebelt tensioner lower mounting bolt, then loosen the tensioner upper bolt. Pivot the tensioner out of the way. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the alternator (Disconnect the electrical connectorand battery positive cable nut (B)). Lower the vehicle and remove the alternator mounting bolts. Guide the alternator out from above (Move the alternator toward the inner fender panel and maneuver it up and out). Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the alternator mounting bolts. Reconnect the battery.
